Pointy helps your store to rank highly in local search results. This directs people nearby who are doing Google searches for products that you stock to visit your store, instead of just ordering the product they’re searching for online.
As soon as you install the free Pointy App on your Lightspeed POS, we automatically create an online page listing all of the products available in your store, complete with images and names.
There’s no extra work for you, just more customers in-store. The product names and images appear automatically. It works for any product that has a manufacturer barcode.
Getting The Most Out Of Pointy
Once you install Pointy on your Lightspeed POS you’ll be given access to the private section of your Pointy Page. Here, you can upload an image of your storefront, edit opening hours and contact details and add a link to your e-commerce website if you have one.
You’ll all also have access to various shop statistics such as your most viewed products on Pointy, your number of Google search impressions and the number of visits to your Pointy Page.
Get Found On Google
“See What’s In Store” is a feature that we’ve launched in partnership with Google. It’s a free service that enables you to display your full product catalogue and live inventory information right on the Google search page!
Just link your Pointy account to Google with a few clicks, and your products will appear in the Google Knowledge Panel and via Google Maps.

Run Highly Targeted Google Ads In Minutes
We’ve partnered with Google to give Pointy retailers access to their highly effective “Local Inventory Ads” feature. Up until recently, it was only easily accessible to large big box retailers like Walmart & Best Buy. Now, thanks to our partnership with Google, Pointy stores can also take advantage of this powerful tool in just a few clicks.
“Local Inventory Ads” visually features your products and store information to nearby shoppers searching with Google. When shoppers click your ad, they arrive on a Google-hosted page for your store, called the local storefront. Shoppers use the local storefront to view in-store inventory, get store hours, find directions, and more.
This is a paid service, but if you decide to try it out there is a $100 trial credit. The advertising campaign will be paused automatically once the first $50 is spent, after which you can decide whether to continue or not.
Adding Your Manufacturer Barcodes To Your Lightspeed POS
Pointy integrates with your Lightspeed POS by collecting your product barcode numbers and finding images and descriptions to match each one. Because of this, for Pointy to work well, your Lightspeed inventory needs to have associated barcode numbers. These must be manufacturer codes (UPC or EAN codes), rather than codes you have created yourself.
