I’ve compiled a list of some of my favourite Irish food and drink brands all of which can be found using the Pointy app. Hope you enjoy!
1. Strong Roots Oven Baked Sweet Potato
I came across these sweet potato fries in Fresh Supermarket a few months ago and have been buying them in bulk ever since. They are so delicious and easy to make! All you need to do is stick them in the oven for 20 minutes and you’ll get perfectly crisp sweet potato fries.
2. Nobo Ice Cream
If you’re looking for a guilt-free dessert then you need to get your hands on some Nobo Dairy Free Frozen Goodness. Made with avocado and coconut milk, it’s got a gorgeous creamy texture and comes in a variety of different flavours. It’s a tough call but I think my favourite would have to be the Irish Salted Caramel flavour.
3. SynerChi Live Kombucha
This Donegal brewed kombucha drink is a must buy for anyone with digestive health problems such as bloating and discomfort after eating. SynerChi is full of live probiotics which help to boost your gut health and it’s also 100% vegan friendly. I was convinced that a drink this healthy would have to taste horrible but was pleasantly surprised by the fresh and fruity flavours. The raspberry and rosehip is a personal favourite.
4. Nua Naturals
This Irish superfood brand have a fantastic range of high quality health foods which help make clean eating really easy. From bee pollen to coconut flour to raw cacao nibs they have every superfood food supplement you could possibly need! If you’re looking for a healthy treat, I recommend trying their hot chocolate – it’s delicious!
5. Stript Snacks
Using 100% prime Irish beef, Stript’s jerky is the perfect snack for any meat lovers. It’s packed full of protein and comes in two delicious flavours. It’s sugar free and with a whopping 16g of protein per pack, it’s sure to keep you full throughout the day.
6. Chia Bia
If you’re trying to get some extra fibre, protein and omega 3 in your diet then grab yourself a bag of these Chia Seeds. They’re great for adding to porridge or sprinkling on a salad and can even be used for baking.
Superlife have a huge range of superfood supplements such as breakfast toppers and smoothie powder blends. They’re all jam packed with antioxidants and vital vitamins and minerals. If you’re feeling low in energy I recommend giving the green mix powder a go.
8. Dr Coy’s Health Foods
If there are any chocoholics out there like myself, Dr Coy’s nutritional chocolate bars are perfect for keeping cravings at bay. These gluten & lactose free bars are made with isomaltulose rather than cane sugar and will not cause your blood sugar levels to rise and drop suddenly. They’re the perfect guilt-free treat, keeping your insulin and glucose levels stable while still providing you with your chocolate fix for the day!
9. The Little Pharma
I stumbled upon these little shots of goodness in Bear Market Coffee and had to try them. The Dublin based company produce both barleygrass and wheatgrass shots made from the freshest ingredients. The health benefits associated with these supplements are endless – definitely worth a try for anyone who suffers from ailments such as Diabetes Type 2, high cholesterol or arthritis.
10. O’Egg Free Range Liquid Egg White
This is one for all of the protein lovers! The O’Egg pasteurised liquid egg white is free range and naturally fat free. It’s great for anyone who is trying to reduce their cholesterol and with 15 egg whites per bottle will definitely help with the protein gains!
