For KennedyArt, 2017 is a particularly significant year as it marks their 130th year in business. The renowned family art store which is now in its fifth generation of ownership prides itself on its unrivalled knowledge of artist’s materials and friendly approachable staff.

Current owner Fionnbarr Kennedy is the great-great-grandson of founder Michael Kennedy. He  describes KennedyArt as a destination store “generally people don’t just happen upon our store – they really have to make an effort to come to us. That’s why we go out of our way to provide customers with an exceptional product range and great service every time they visit the store”.

Driving More Customers To The Store

Over the last 130 years, Fionnbarr and his family have built a reputation for KennedyArt as a high service shop run by artists for artists “all of our employees are artists themselves so they are experts when it comes to our vast product range. New art store chains are popping up all the time but it’s rare that you’ll find the same level of service and knowledge that we provide. I think that’s one of the reasons we see the same people coming back into the store all the time”.

Like any good store owner, Fionnbarr is always on the lookout for products and services that will help to improve footfall to his store “I’ve always had an interest in technology so when Pointy approached me with their little device, I had to give it a try. Fionnbarr says that Pointy has played a key role in attracting customers who are doing local Google searches for products that they stock “if a customer is doing a local search for a specific art material the chances are they want the product that day – they don’t want to wait for shipping. Thanks to Pointy we’re showing up in these local searches and getting sales that previously would have gone to online giants like Amazon”.
